Theaters

Opened in 1949, on a prominent corner of Pacific Coast Highway, the Port Theater has stood for over half a century as a symbol of golden age glamour and Newport Beach iconography. The Port has been home to some of the grandest premieres during the Golden Age of Hollywood, including the 1952 opening of Cecil B. DeMille’s Academy Award-winning film, The Greatest Show on Earth – which created one of the Port’s most iconic images. The theater’s unique nautical theme is fitting of the Southern California beach culture and its proximity to the Pacific Ocean.

The reimagined and modern Port Theater is now a classic movie house and imaginative event venue presenting the best of silver screen magic. Nestled in the heart of Corona del Mar, this boutique movie house exudes glamour and elegance, serving as a breathtaking backdrop for the most noteworthy events. The Port Theater’s unique space creates the perfect setting for intimate weddings, private screenings, corporate and social events, featuring 11,000 square feet of opulence and customizable state-of-the-art technological amenities.

For classic movie houses, The Port Theater’s auditorium features one oversize screen and seating for up to 175 guests. Our patrons lovingly preserve the authenticity of Golden Age movie-going, dressing dapper to enjoy “the” movie of the week from either the theater’s main level or (for a proper bird’s eye view), the balcony. Our two full kitchens and separate lobby and balcony bars serve a wide variety of contemporary entrees, shareable plates, and premium cocktails.
