Background

WHO ARE WE?

Founded in 1999, The Corona del Mar Business Improvement District (CDMBID), has been a catalyst in transforming Corona del Mar’s village business district environment.  A coalition of approximately 375 business owners united in their commitment to make the district a desirable location to conduct business.

Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) were created by the City of Newport Beach at the request of the businesses within each district. Every business in the district is assessed a levy that is allocated for district-specific improvements and/or marketing. The BID assessment is a legally mandated tax on your business, just like your business license or property tax. The levy is based on a percentage of your business license fee and assessed on an annual basis.

DISTRICT BOUNDARIES

Business owners choose Corona del Mar as their business location because of the desirable environment to conduct business with their customers.   The BID works to enhance the location standards by investing back into the community though various means of physical and economic improvement projects contributing to the overall Vision Plan for Corona del Mar.  The district boundaries for the CDM BID start at Avocado Avenue and proceed east to the western edge of buck gully near Hazel Drive.
